They answered all of our questions and told us about future planning within the city. They even gave us the "inside scoop" on the plans for the City Hall building's move from Government CEnter to another part of the city. THen we did some exploring and community interviewing in Fanueil Hall and NEwbury ST. Its been a great trip!

Today we met with the B.R.A. and looked over a model of the whole city of Boston. First a man told us about how the city came to be so large and crowded and told us about the transformations the city has experienced since its was founded. Next Prataap came and answered all of our questions and explained many unknown parts of Boston to us. After we went to Fanuiel Hall and asked some of the shoppers about their views on Boston to get a deeper understanding of the city. Following this I went to Newbury St. and looked at the archetecture of the shops and churches.

The Modle of boston was really cool to look at alot of time and effort was put into the construction of this mini boston. Later today we went around boston asking people our questions. I spoke with college age people about their concerns with the enviroment. They feel that alot of greenspace in boston is being taken over and this is not good. also they dont see the point in makeing such extravagant buildings and huge structures. They are concerned for the future, weather or not we will be able to fuel the city or not

They wanted to know what we thought about goverment center and what could make it better.d

Today we went to city hall and met with David Carlson in a huge room with a scale mdel of Boston. He taught us about how Boston evolved from being on the bottom to becoming a modern city. Then Prataap Patrose took over and explained how Boston was planning for the future. He also answered many of our questions. We ate lunch at Faneuil Hall and asked people on the street some questions that we had come up with to help us write our papers. We quickly found out it was hard to get answers, because people had things to do. We also took some time out to look at some of the buildings of Boston.

Today we went to CIty hall and met with two people who worked for BRA. inreagards to my essentioal question i gained some intersting insight. i learned a futher definition of efficency. at city hall I learned that Efficancy can be a mobleof life for people, not just time or cars or money. buildings and parks that are desined to be intersting perposfuly esprestionit to people and for no other reson is somthing improtant to the city and persued by the BRA. Space I learned was actualy being restricted for cars and buildings to allow pedestrians to enjoy and use the space of the city. There explantion and insight will help me to answer my essentioal question and was lagitamitly very intersting to me to learn. Matt

At 9 today we went to City Hall and met with two people there. We got to see a big model of the whole city and see how the city will look like in the future. It was very interesting learning about where the city is going and the plans that they have. Lets hope the Big Dig gets finished soon.
